Consumer Units

Keep blowing a fuse? Is your fuse box coping with today's modern electrical demands?  Safe Sparks can efficiently replace old fuse boxes with new Consumer Units to meet the latest wiring and safety standards...

The regulations changed recently and now any replacement or newly installed consumer units have to be made of fire proof material.  It is now recommended that lighting circuits are also protected by RCD additional automatic disconnection protection.

We can review the state of your fuse board and recommend if an upgrade is required or not.  Generally if the electrical supply from the meter is in good order an upgrade should only take around  a days work.

Electrical Certificates

All works undertaken are inspected, tested and verified compliant with the latest regulations.  On completion of the work, the relevant  MWEIC or EIC certificate will be issued to you for safe keeping...

Domestic electrical work falls into two categories.  These are Notifiable and Non-notifiable to the local building regulations authority.  Either category of work has to be be inspected, tested and verified safe for use.  This is confirmed with the issue of a certificate on completion of the work.

It will detail the tests that have been undertaken to ensure that the installation conforms to the relevant safety regulations.  The certificates are important documents and you may need to provide these as proof that the work has been signed off by a competent person.
